With “an unbearable lightness of being lying down on a field of asemic impressionist possibility” I wanted to create a piece that would be free from the characteristics that are expected from long form generative projects, where you need to create an artwork that can create hundreds of interesting pieces. The title is a nod to a feeling that creeps in often, the unbearable lightness of being, that contrasts with a truth that stems from generative art-making: the infinite possibilities, a reminder of the infinite possibilities that lie ahead once we leave the anguish behind. Modern life, or just life, is a battle, is contrast, is an impossible balance between what is behind and what is next, an unfathomable grasp of the present. All that is present in the piece. I like to explore the texture viewing the piece at 1:1 size: the way the pixels, mere emitters of light, talk to each other is of special interest to me, as if there is an answer to that anguish therein. It may be not, but it helps me contemplate the unbearable lightness of being in a different light, and maybe open to the infinite possibilities.
