This moment was captured during the 2019 whale migration. These humpbacks were cruising along, taking their time heading north in the deep waters’ way out to sea off Sydney's Northern Beaches.

The water was relatively calm and very clear, revealing the incredible textures of the whales' backs, fins and tails in beautiful shimmering light.

I worked hard on this clip to add the sound design and music to compliment this ethereal moment as I remember it in my mind. The adrenaline of finding these amazing creatures is always a rush and a meditative experience at the same time. A surreal combination of emotions and feelings that stays with you long after the moment.

Documenting these animals is very important to me, watching their numbers grow every year and I am proud to release this work onto the blockchain for eternity. This is a true 1/1 moment.
