Where am I when I am not in reality or in my imagination?

When and how can we differentiate between the two?

Although I have these and more profound questions in my mind all the time, I prefer to think that the future of reality, if there is one, clearly belongs to the imagination. Since reality can be shaped in any possible way, it can only be up to the imagination to choose what to mold it into.
