Clod 383, like many of my other Clods, focuses on community. It describes individuals trying to rebuild a life on fragments of land left over after the destruction caused by the over-exploitation of our planet. On the Clod, differences do not exist and people try to live as a united and cohesive community, facing challenges to survive, knowing not to repeat past mistakes. In Clod 383, this message is also represented by a luminous inscription on the top, symbolising light as a contrast to shadow, which in this case also represents the deterioration of things.
