Inspired by a Patakí from the Afro-Cuban Santeria religion, this series explores moments of intimacy and vulnerability that often escape from traditional representations, crossed by a symbolic search for queerness in the Yoruba imaginary and other identity issues.

The patakíes are short stories or parables that depict situations and their consequences and transmit teachings and knowledge with a high value in the construction of moral norms and the behaviors of its practitioners.

Pataki where Oyá saves Shangó:

Surrounded by his enemies, Shangó fled to the place where Oyá lived to hide.

-Why do you lack the courage to fight? - Oyá asked.

He replied that he did not lack courage, but rather that he was tired.

Oya cut her braids, gave them to him, and helped him dress as a woman. This way he mocked them, rested, and moved into combat braver than ever.

Oya joined him. The enemy was beaten. Since then, Oyá was inseparable from Shangó in all wars.
