Empty Space is an animation composed of several frames of digital paintings created by Marlon Portales. The animation is part of an installation work presented in public space alongside an oil painting on canvas (Empty Space II).

The mise-en-scène consists of projecting the colorful, animated virtual beach scene over a small oil portrait format. In the physical space, the combination of both works creates a sensorial dialogue; as both pieces blend together, the physical and digital components merge to create a new experience for the viewer.

The collector of the Empty Space animation will receive an airdrop of "Empty Space II" painting and have the option to claim the physical collectible, an oil on canvas version of the artwork.
