Ever since I started my journey with photography, I have always been greatly inspired by wanting to create surreal photos. Different painters and artistic movements have had a big impact on my way of appreciating this medium and wanting to turn it into something new and unusual. Since then, I have felt a tremendous attraction and appreciation for traditional Chinese and Japanese art, particularly Ukiyo-e. I find great pleasure in knowing it refers to an idea of happiness derived from the realization that the world is "ephemeral, fleeting or transitory". Every time I see the art of artists like Utagawa Hiroshige, who was one of the main exponents of Japanese landscape painting, I realize that I can see things differently. My perspective to photograph a concept, subject or landscape changes in ways that I had not been able to achieve before. Artists like him organically challenge me to improve and understand my vision and that is why studying different art mediums have an impact on how I treat my photography.

Another special artist that I must mention who inspired this piece is Vincent Van Gogh. Not only for his delicate and wonderful use of color but also for his way of expressing himself having the same love and inspiration for ancient Japanese art. Cherry blossom trees became a personal symbol that brought him into contact with the vitality and sacredness of nature as depicted in this art.

In Bloom is a dedication to this artistic movement and artists who constantly inspire me and help me to continue portraying my experiences, love and emotions in the world.
