The landscape is inspired by the shield volcano on the planet Venus, Maat Mons.

Fresh, dark lava flows extend for hundred kilometres across the fractured foreground. The name of the volcano originates from two words "Maat" and "Mons".

"Maat", the ancient egyptian concept of harmony, balance, truth and justice was personified as a goddess Maat, often depicted with wings on each arm, or wearing an ostrich feather on her head.

The second word "Mons" originates from the Latin term "mountain".
