This piece is a tribute to the things that lit the creative spark in me as a child in the 1980s.

Specifically, Bakshi’s Lord of the Rings film, which is branded indelibly on my imagination (particularly the backgrounds) & the work of Roger Dean.

But it is about reaching back to all of the things that sparked my imagination into life. An open & unspoiled landscape, perfect for a quest. The warm nostalgia of VHS.

There is no figure - I want you to be the protagonist. I hope that whoever views it can sense the adventure ahead & the embrace of a childhood happily lost in books & films.

Being a piece of my work, it ties into my Big Story. The three moons, the mention of Peregrinus & the title itself - a mountain range seen on a map I’ve shared many times, but perhaps viewed here for the first time at the genesis of the story.
