As an artist, I've always been fascinated by the intersection of art and technology, and how these two seemingly disparate fields can come together to create something truly unique. This fascination led me to create the "/imagine" installation, which explores the potential impact of artificial intelligence on the art world in a thought-provoking and visually striking way.

At the heart of this installation is a vintage computer inspired by the Apple ii, a symbol of the past, connected to a brain-like structure that generates an endless stream of images, representing the future. To create the content displayed in the video, I used multiple AI tools in my 3D workflow. Midjourney AI provided a foundation for the overall design of the piece, while Dalle 2, an AI-based language model, generated content for the images displayed in the video. These images, derived from famous artists like Miro, Picasso, Michelangelo but also NFT artist like Xcopy, Beeple, and Pak, raise questions about the nature of creativity and originality.

If AI can generate images that look like they were created by a particular artist, does that mean that the machine is capable of true creativity? Or is it simply mimicking the style and technique of a human artist?

Ultimately, the installation encourages viewers to reflect on the evolving relationship between technology and creativity and to consider the implications of this relationship for the future of art.

In addition to the use of AI tools, I also utilized a Depth of Field (DOF) plugin that uses AI to scan and calculate the depth map from the video for post-production purposes. Another AI tool was used to upscale the film, saving valuable time and resources during the rendering process.

For me, the '/imagine' installation serves as a commentary on the importance of human creativity and the value of preserving it in an increasingly technological world.

I'm constantly exploring new ways to integrate technology into my work, but I firmly believe that the human touch is irreplaceable.

By confronting the possibility of machines replacing human artists, I hope to encourage you to consider the unique value of human creativity and the important role it plays in shaping our world.
