In Greek mythology, nymphs were magical beings linked to natural characteristics. They were frequently represented as beautiful entities. Nymphs were thought to be able to change shape and were linked with numerous parts of nature, including the seasons and the underworld. They were also linked with the arts and were supposed to inspire artists. They were frequently represented in art and literature as companions of the gods and goddesses.

When I'm out in the wilderness, I often check the surface of calm lakes for a glimpse of time when a being like them could appear. I feel as though I just missed that moment, yet I later continue to sens the presence of tranquility for days.
