Based on my largest drawing "De Natura Universi", "De Metæverse" is an artwork born by a collaboration between me and Matteo Mauro Studio. Mauro augments a personal reading of my style which, through a fine research and technical work, reinterprets it, affirming the omnipresence of artists with traditional techniques, who not only continue to feed the creative process, but themselves provide the tools that – digitally transformed - speak the language of the present. A constant and fertile dialectic between analog and digital takes place within an artistic object that consists of an engraving impressed on a digital plate. With this in mind, the history of art is transformed into a fantastic world and the vital source from which to draw becomes rerum natura. The intricate texture of the original work, its grayscale colours between the mundane and the divine guide an experimentation that heads towards the boundless spaces of a brilliant abstraction, which is nothing but an evolution that gives new lymph to its primal sacral vigour.
